CAPE TOWN: Pakistan eyes to make milestone by winning ICC Twnety20 World Cup after cruising into historic victory over New Zealand in the semi-final here at Newlands on Saturday

Pakistan defeated New Zealand by six wickets as it easily chased the target of 144 runs set by New Zealand in 18.5 ours with loss of four wickets.

Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Nazir and Umar Gul by taking three wickets helped Pakistan beat New Zealand by six wickets with seven balls to spare.

Gul was not introduced until the 12th over at Newlands but quickly removed Scott Styris (18), Peter Fulton (10) and Jacob Oram (1) to restrict New Zealand to a modest 143 for eight after electing to bat first.

Pakistan were never behind the asking rate and remained in control throughout the run chase. Captain Shoaib Malik (26 not out) finished the contest in style by hammering off-spinner Jeetan Patel over mid-wicket for six.

Earlier, Ross Taylor top-scored for New Zealand with an unbeaten 37 from 23 balls. He smashed paceman Mohammed Asif for 17 in the final over.

Openers Brendan McCullum (26) and Lou Vincent (28) shared a 50-run opening stand before wickets started to fall on a regular basis.

Pakistan will meet Australia or India in Monday’s final.

well..heart broken yaar..we shouldnt take so much seriously..but after all it was pak/indi match..i prayed so much for pak..but i think luck wasnt with us..player did their best i wont say they didnt did well..they does hats off to them..if they didnt they wont come till final..god bless them..its happened..
but am sooooooooooooo sad..

mann i m still so sad n im oly proud of 3 ppl Nasir, Misbah n Soaib Malik n da rest of da team arrgg n da worst of em was Afridi i think he sud b kicked out of da team wid shoaib aktar dey both suck n i dont think we need player lyk dat who noli play when dey feel lyk
n i believe da da kid who pla in da street play better than da way da team played 2day it was just reallly sad n u no wut all da bookies bet da pak wud win but dey lost wich if u understand ud mean dat yess dey did get some money 2 win...now i no some ppl wont believe me but guyz comon did u ppl even look at da way dey lost?? da way dey played n da way dey got out it was just soo obvious 4 even some1 who never played cricket 2 c dat dey were reallyy foolin it

yaar its like biggest trauma for us..its remind me last shot of mishba if that kameeney indian didnt catch the ball..khassssssssss....yaar this time at least againt indian they should have win..but luck was with bloody indians..i truely hate it..am brokennn..but hope next big cup pakistan should win it..then at least yeh 20/20 cup kuch bhi nahi hoga pakistan ke aage...
frankly u know..shahid cup was much better than the world cup..lolzz

i dont know whyyyy..i wish i know the answer why they won it and we didnt..they did their best..but luck...am hoping next time..every matches with india..inshallah they(pakistan) will win..
